Newbiggin by the Sea has a number of attractions that cater for visitors with both general and particular interests in mind.

It has been traditionally a very popular coastal destination, particularly in the 1930’s when it was an essential part of the region’s social calendar. Its coastal location was and still is a major draw for the town and also boasts Northumberland’s longest promenade along its beach.

It has two churches of historic significance that provide visitors with a glimpse into the areas rich heritage and provide insight into how the area developed over time.

For those with a passion for the artistic and creative, Newbiggin boasts certainly the UK’s, if not the world’s, first permanent offshore artwork, ‘Couple’ by Sean Henry. While taking in this impressive sight why not take the opportunity to walk around town following the local art trail? Produced by a range of artists, it offers a collection of sculptures, carvings and other unique pieces for visitors.

The town also holds an annual triathlon event, which is very popular and attracts a good number of competitors and spectators each year.

All this and more is available when visiting Newbiggin, so why not take a more detailed look into what you can see and do while you are here?
